What you can expect:
As part of the Development group within CropDesign, you will support the different Development and Technical Applied Genetics
Managers. This involves assisting in the preparation of multiplications and field trials of rice, as well as inventory management and data cleaning. In addition, you will prepare the sampling in the field and shipping of seed samples. You are responsible for the coordination and monitoring of seed quality control, and for the treatment of data from molecular analyses.

What we expect:
You have a Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field, or equivalent through working experience. You have experience in handling molecular data (e.g. PCR); familiarity with statistics and field trials is an asset. You are expected to have a sound knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software. You are a highly accurate team player with a keen interest in plants. Fluency in English is a must.

Scientist Applied Plant Trait Translatability
What you can expect:
You will assist in the planning and tracking of constructs within TraitMill, CropDesign's gene-impact evaluation platform, as well as in the overview of statistical reporting, the preparation of reports for an external research partner, and the optimization of the strategic use of TraitMill in the context of a large collaboration. This includes analyses of phenotypic, molecular and biochemical data. You will be at the intersection of several functions, providing the link between planning, statistics, other collaborating scientists and plant physiologists. You will also participate in identifying constructs that qualify to be tested in the various crops included in the collaboration. On the longer term, you will contribute to studying the transfer of important agronomic traits, such as seed yield, biomass production, abiotic stress tolerance and usage of inputs like water and nutrients, between the different crops.

What we expect:
You hold a master degree in biology, biotechnology or bioengineering, preferably with a focus on plant development and plant yield. At least one to three years of private-sector work experience in the field of plant biotechnology is a strong plus. You are expected to have outstanding organizational skills, and are acquainted with standard biometric and bioinformatics tools or have a keen interest in learning to work with these tools. You are a goal-oriented team player, who shares our passion for biotechnology and agronomic applications of plant molecular research. Excellent communication skills and full English-language proficiency (both oral and written) are of paramount importance.
