A custom-built integrated laboratory management information system (LIMS) keeps track of all handlings performed at CropDesign.

The LIMS interfaces through wireless or optic fiber connections with the different robots, digital cameras, analysis instruments and pocket/desktop PCs in the company. The LIMS is therefore at the same time a tracking system and a data depository.

Digital images and statistically processed data derived from them are stored on a multi-terabyte storage area network. These data can be retrieved via intuitive query and visualization software.
